History attests to human beings' inevitable search for progress, wealth and what they deem good for
their well-being — albeit not always for others' well-being.
History also attests to the abject misery and suffering that millions have had to endure as a result of their
impulsive, uninformed decisions.
Ignorant of, or
forsaking the past, driven by their self-interests and/or prejudices, democratic societies
have chosen demagogues who would tell them
what they wanted to hear — only to regret their
cataclysmic decisions after their deceptive
leaders had destroyed their nations!
Adolf Hitler, in fact, exemplifies the aforesaid! In 1923, having attempted to overthrow the Weimar
Republic — and incarserated for his treasonous acts — was made German Chancellor in 1933.
Believing his promises, despite his racist, anti-Semitic insults, Germans chose a power-hungry, tyranical megalomaniac
as their "Thousand-year-Reich" Fuhrer.
Unfortunately, by 1945, frail and mentally challenged, their Fuhrer had destroyed their Deutschland and was responsible for
causing the deaths of millions of human beings around the world.
It was not until their "Third Reich" had gone up in flames — and their own
hunger-ravaged lives
ruined — that
deceived Germans came to regret their blind,
"What's-in-it-for-me?",
self-serving decisions!
It is inconceivable that, fully cognizant of the
catastrophic conditions that Germans experienced in WWII, in 2025,
some Americans would attempt to emulate Germans' senseless decisions and risk losing their priceless
rights and
freedoms!
