Candidate Vetting
FASCISM is DEMOCRACY's greatest peril.  Defeating its lying, power-hungry supporters at the polling booth must be Priority #1!  Read More . . .

Yet, some Democrats continue using old, ineffectual methods ad nauseam, concentrating on "identity" issues and getting the same results, i.e., ABJECT DEFEAT at the polls!

All Issues Are Important
To be sure, every single issue is vitally important to the welfare of all Americans — especially Roe V. Wade and voting rights.
Nonetheless, given our current political reality and the perils that threaten our DEMOCRACY, a "political triage" is in order.
Accordingly, if our DEMOCRACY is to endure, it must be kept at the forefront of all our efforts and the following should be kept in mind:
Winning narrow-margin-elections won't be enough to pass legislation that will secure our DEMOCRACY.

Winning Elections Nowadays
These days, winning elections demands new methods that are commensurate with our "volatile", political reality.
If archaic, bygone-era-methods, attitudes and rhetoric, are employeed all over again, all we can expect is ABJECT DEFEAT at the polls in the next elections.
In addition, letting untrained, out-of-tbe-box or previously-defeated candidates to fend for themselves during elections — no matter how bright they might be — will most likely end in defeat at the polls, as in the 2022 elections.
Further, counting on a candidate's articulateness, charisma, ethnicity, nationality or gender alone will not win elections.

Avoid Ineffectual Rules
Democratic leaders (mostly volunteers) should avoid archaic rules and adopt common-sense methods.

  1. ignore archaic, self-defeating rules that demand "impartiality" when more than one candidate is running
  2. ignore rules that forbid support of duly-vetted, better-qualified candidates when other, less-qualified, individuals also wish to run
  3. know that, during elections, candidates have a better chance of reaching voters of both parties than party activists
  4. beware that, due to anti-Spam, App algorithms, mass email "blasts" seldom reach their intended targets
  5. understand that candidate-recruiting, vetting and training should be priority #1; voters who actually vote need candidates to vote for
  6. know that personality-based leader-selection is a recipe for organizational disaster
  7. shun ladder-climbing, so-called, leaders who are only interested in name-recognition and personal political ambitions not organizational success!
  8. seek advice from those who are more experienced than you are

To Know And Know Not
There's a vast difference between THINKING and, in fact, KNOWING what we think we know!
Question: Did your political leaders or candidates employ methods or strategies that culminated in electoral ballot-box success in the last elections?  If the answer is "NO!", then IT'S TIME FOR A CHANGE!
Obviously, their methods and strategies were not capable of inducing "stay-at-home-Democrats" OR biased, uninformed, bamboozled voters — "The Misguided Obstinate" — to cast their ballots in our favor on election day.

The Misguided Obstinate
The Misguided Obstinate will not bother to listen to what is obviously true — even when it's in their best interest!
In our political climate, these individuals listen only to those who appeal to their prejudices and/or self-interest, NOT to anyone who opposes their misguided views!
The Misguided Obstinate's blind support of lying, self-serving, criminally-indicted politicians whose FASCIST intensions are obvious, simply because of their party affiliation, demands a subtle, thoughtful, approach.

Their "Achilles' Heel"
The aforesaid notwithstanding, The Misguided Obstinate have their own issues and possible situations to worry about — their "Achilles' heel".
Like all of us, they have families that need to be fed, clothed and sheltered as well as medical expenses, fears and finacial insecuritiesRepublican politicians know this.
In fact, Republican politicians have been exploiting their supporters' Achilles' heel for decades.  Their deceptive mantra: "Democrats-are-tax-and-spend-liberals-and-socialists-who-want-to-take-your-money".
The problem for Republicans: when they win elections and inherit a strong, vibrant economy, their self-serving, pro-wealthy policies fail, destroying the ecomomy!

Two indisputable, historical examples:
  1. From 1921 to 1932, Warren G. Harding, Calvin Coolidge and Herbert Hoover were presidents of the U.S.; from 2001 to 2008, George W. Bush was president.  All were Republicans.
  2. As a consequence of these Republicans' misguided, pro-wealthy policies, we had the 1929 Depression and the 2008 Recession.
  3. Because of these catastrophic events, a great majority of Americans elected Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1932 and Barack Obama in 2009 — both Democrats!
  4. Because of these Democrats' policies, the U.S. economy was able to recover and millions of new jobs were created in America.  Corporations and the world at large benefitted as well.

Reaching "The Misguided"
With rare exceptions, human beings generally have a self-preserving, "What's in it for me?" attitude.
Consequently, in times of economic "turmoil" or when The Misguided find it in their interest, they are willing to listen to reasonable voices and even vote for Democrats.
The way to reach The Misguided is by offering them solutions that will appeal to their "What's in it for me?" attitude.
Obviously, being heard, understood and heeded by The Misguided would be of great importance to our fragile DEMOCRACY and it's institutions.
With votes from The Misguided, Democrats might be able to achieve the legislative majorities required to save our DEMOCRACY as well as address other important issues.
